What makes this technology unique is that during the process, the CO₂ present in wet organic waste streams is completely captured and does not end up in the atmosphere. This has a double positive effect: on the one hand, the CO₂ present is captured, and on the other hand, fossil oil, which adds extra CO₂ to the atmosphere, is replaced by green oil (biocrude). And the HTU® technology prevents emissions from manure, such as ammonia and methane.

HTU® Industries introduces an innovative technology that converts wet organic waste streams, such as manure, roadside grass clippings, and sludge, into biocrude – the basis for sustainable solutions like biobitumen and biofuels. This gives organic waste new value and actively contributes to a circular economy.

HTU® technology is designed for maximum efficiency and circularity. Wet organic waste streams are converted into high-quality biocrude with high yields, while virtually all other process streams are reused. Thanks to a circular mass-energy balance of over 98%, there are virtually no harmful emissions or waste streams.

HTU® Industries can collaborate with the agricultural sector, water boards and municipalities to utilize local sludge and manure streams in regional energy and infrastructure projects.

There are also opportunities for partnerships with asphalt producers and fuel suppliers who want to use biobitumen and biofuels in sustainable road construction and green mobility.

By joining innovation programs for renewable fuels and circular building materials, new pilots and scaling-up projects can be financed.
